The concept and current business model evolved from the successful marketing arm of the Vital Pharmacy Group: a division specifically set up to source and develop niche marketing initiatives for its own retail pharmacies.

After years of success, a number of retail awards* and constant feedback from the industry wanting to adopt a similar model, it was time to look at extending the benefits to other pharmacies.

Over the past 25 years, I have owned and successfully operated seven retail pharmacies, from stores in small suburban shopping strips to major shopping centres, in city and country locations. My retail philosophy has always been to be proactive and constantly search for something new or different in my stores. I was always looking for things my competitors weren't doing.

I have always sought new popular niche products, which could fit into an ethical pharmacy and add sizzle to the retail offer. Recently, I attended an international retail study tour in USA, which enhanced my vision of retail and contributed to the formation of Retail Vitality Pty Ltd.

So simple, yet so effective

At my pharmacies, we introduced our own brand of reusable cloth bags. They were available for sale at a very reasonable price. We gave some away to our loyal customers as well to customers who purchased a large volume of stock at one time. The reusable bags were extremely well received sold consistently and added another string to our marketing bow. It was rewarding to see our branded bags out and about, being used again and again and promoting our store name.

Further sourcing investigations resulted in significant cost savings, which I demonstrated to the Pharmacy Guild of Australia.

As a result, Retail Vitality was appointed the sole Pharmacy Guild recommended supplier of NWPP bags to Pharmacies in Australia.
